On Thursday evening (30), representatives of Agência de Desenvolvimento Regional do Sertão Central (ADR Sertão Central), Sistema Sincopeças, Assopeças e Assomotos do Estado do Ceará (SSA-CE), and Câmara de Dirigentes Lojistas (CDL) of Quixeramobim officially delivered to Mayor Cirilo Pimenta a proposal for the implementation of the Technical Course in Automotive Maintenance at Escola Estadual de Educação Profissional (EEEP) Dr. José Alves da Silveira.

The initiative arises from the need to prepare the population for new opportunities emerging with the strengthening of the business environment in Quixeramobim and throughout Sertão Central. The growth of the automotive sector, the consolidation of the Dry Port, the future operation of the Transnordestina railway, and the arrival of new industrial and logistical ventures will require increasingly qualified professionals to meet market demands.

The document proposes that the course be offered by the Secretaria da Educação do Estado do Ceará (SEDUC), training specialized technicians to work in mechanical repair shops, dealerships, automotive centers, transportation and logistics companies, fleet operators, and other segments related to the maintenance of light, heavy, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

For the president of ADR Sertão Central, André Ricardo da Silva Fernandes, investing in professional training is one of the most efficient strategies to promote regional development.

“"Our mission is to build bridges between the productive sector, the public sector, and educational institutions. This proposal represents exactly that purpose: preparing our population to fill the vacancies that will be generated by the investments that are already arriving in Sertão Central."”

The regional director of SSA-CE and president of CDL Quixeramobim, Lewton Almeida Fernandes, highlighted that the lack of qualified labor is already a reality faced by companies in the automotive sector.

“"The automotive segment is undergoing a profound technological transformation, and companies are already finding it difficult to hire qualified professionals. Anticipating this demand means ensuring competitiveness for our companies and opportunities for our youth."”

ADR Sertão Central also reinforced that professional qualification is one of the foundations for consolidating the region's sustainable development, allowing new investments to result in job creation, income, and social inclusion.
