Sertão Central Cearense is experiencing a new moment in its economic, industrial, and logistical transformation process. The signing ceremony of the protocol to start construction work on the future industrial unit of Magnésio do Nordeste Ltda, in partnership with Grupo Avelino, was held in Quixeramobim, a venture that is expected to receive estimated investments of around R$ 370 million.

The initiative reinforces the new strategic positioning of Sertão Central within Ceará's development dynamics, connecting industrialization, logistics, innovation, and territorial integration in a region that is consolidating itself as a new emerging investment hub in the northeastern interior.

The Agência de Desenvolvimento do Sertão Central Cearense (ADESCC) was present at the institutional event, reaffirming its commitment to building a regional environment favorable to attracting structural investments, strengthening territorial governance, and economic integration of the municipalities of Sertão Central Cearense.

The enterprise will be established on an area of approximately 18 hectares, in the vicinity of the Parque de Exposição de Quixeramobim, consolidating another important vector of industrialization for the regional territory.

According to information presented during the ceremony, the facility will focus on the industrial processing of polymer magnesium for the manufacturing of high-technology automotive parts. The project does not involve mineral extraction, but rather the industrial processing of raw material for advanced applications in the automotive sector.

The future factory is expected to serve automobile and motorcycle assemblers throughout Brazil, strengthening the national automotive production chain and positioning the Sertão Central Cearense as a new strategic hub for the high-technology automotive components industry.

Representing Magnésio do Nordeste Ltda, Portuguese businessman Antônio Teixeira highlighted the innovative nature of the project, stating that the facility will be the first and only plant in the world dedicated to producing magnesium automotive parts under this technological model, positioning Sertão Central on the global stage of automotive industrial innovation.

According to Antônio Teixeira, the enterprise will feature participation from American and European investors, reinforcing the project's international reach and the region's strategic potential within the new industrial dynamics of the Brazilian Northeast.

The factory will also feature, in its annexed structure, a day care center, restaurant, and planned green area—the latter with the future possibility of also being used by the population—reinforcing the enterprise's concept of urban integration, sustainability, and social responsibility.

The start of construction is scheduled for July 2026, under the responsibility of Grupo Avelino, a company that also announced during the ceremony the relocation of its headquarters to Quixeramobim, further expanding its presence in Sertão Central.

This business momentum reinforces the new landscape of economic transformation in Sertão Central of Ceará, driven by the consolidation of strategic vectors such as the Dry Port of Quixeramobim, the Transnordestina railway, and the territorial integration and regional development initiatives championed by ADESCC over recent years.

More than an isolated investment, the enterprise represents the strengthening of a new regional economic matrix based on logistics, industrialization, innovation, and the attraction of structuring investments, enhancing the territorial competitiveness of Sertão Central in the northeastern economic landscape.
